What Is the Hawthorn Woods Holiday Craft Fair?
The annual Hawthorn Woods Holiday Craft Fair is a seasonal shopping event hosted by the Village of Hawthorn Woods. It brings together local crafters and businesses offering unique items that make holiday shopping more personal.
Instead of browsing typical retail displays, visitors can explore handcrafted products, seasonal decorations, and distinctive gifts. The event offers an opportunity to discover something special while supporting participating vendors.
2026 Holiday Craft Fair Date and Location
The Village has scheduled the 2026 Holiday Craft Fair for Saturday, November 28, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Village Barn, located at 2 Lagoon Drive in Hawthorn Woods.
Admission is free, making it an accessible seasonal activity for residents and visitors. Attendees can browse the event during its scheduled hours without purchasing an admission ticket.
What Can Visitors Expect?
The fair features vendors offering handcrafted and unique merchandise suitable for holiday decorating and gift-giving. The Village's event materials describe a festive barn setting with seasonal decorations, lights, and holiday music.
Shoppers may find inspiration for gifts, home decorations, and other seasonal purchases. Because individual vendors and available products can vary, visitors should keep an open mind about what they might discover.
Why the Holiday Craft Fair Is Worth Visiting
Holiday shopping can feel rushed when it revolves around crowded stores and long shopping lists. A local craft fair offers a different experience, giving visitors time to explore distinctive items and appreciate the creativity behind them.
The Hawthorn Woods event also provides an opportunity to participate in a familiar village tradition. Its smaller community setting makes it an appealing alternative to larger seasonal shopping destinations.
Discover Unique Holiday Gifts
Handcrafted merchandise can be especially appealing when shopping for someone who appreciates thoughtful or unusual presents. Visitors can explore items that may not be available through conventional retailers.
Support Participating Crafters and Businesses
Purchasing from participating vendors helps support the people and businesses behind the products. It also gives shoppers a chance to appreciate the craftsmanship and creativity represented at the event.
What Is Hometown Holiday in Hawthorn Woods?
Hometown Holiday Hawthorn Woods is another seasonal celebration organized by the Village. While the Holiday Craft Fair focuses on shopping and handcrafted merchandise, Hometown Holiday centers on family activities and shared holiday experiences.
For 2026, the Village has announced a cozy holiday gathering at the decorated Village Hall Barn. The event includes opportunities for children to enjoy seasonal activities and spend time with Santa.
2026 Hometown Holiday Date and Registration
Hometown Holiday is scheduled for Friday, December 4, 2026, at the Village Hall Barn. The Village lists advance-registration timeslots beginning at 5:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
Registration costs $5 per child for residents and $10 per child for nonresidents. Adults do not need to register separately, and the child's registration fee includes the scheduled event activities.
Holiday Activities for Families
The Village's announced activities include visits and photos with Santa, holiday crafts, letters to Santa, and festive face painting. Hot chocolate, warm cider, and holiday cookies are also part of the planned experience.
These activities give families several ways to celebrate together in one setting. Parents should register children in advance and confirm the latest event instructions before attending.
How Do the Two Holiday Events Compare?
Although both celebrations take place during the holiday season, they offer different experiences. Understanding what each event emphasizes can help residents decide which activities best fit their interests.
Holiday Craft Fair for Shopping and Seasonal Inspiration
The Holiday Craft Fair is ideal for visitors who enjoy browsing handcrafted merchandise, looking for gifts, and exploring seasonal decorations. Its free admission and daytime schedule make it convenient for a casual holiday outing.
Hometown Holiday for Family Activities
Hometown Holiday is more focused on children's activities and family participation. With scheduled visits with Santa, crafts, and refreshments, it provides a structured seasonal experience for families who register in advance.
Tips for Enjoying Hawthorn Woods Holiday Events
A little preparation can help make both events more enjoyable. Checking the official details, planning around the schedule, and knowing what to expect can prevent unnecessary surprises.
Confirm Event Details Before Attending
Event schedules, activities, and logistical information may change. Residents should review the Village of Hawthorn Woods' official event announcements for the latest details before making plans.
Register Early When Required
Unlike the free-admission Holiday Craft Fair, the 2026 Hometown Holiday requires advance registration for children. Families interested in attending should select their preferred timeslot ahead of the event.
Make Time to Enjoy the Experience
